Not sure if I should be filling this section in for tech support although the requirments below suggest it. Anyway. The issue is that I have guru installed and a course created. The problem is that in the course settings in the Cover/Avatar section I cannot upload an header image for each course. The error is;
Server error, Upload directory isn't writeable.
The prblem with that is that the directory and all files are owned by www-data user and the folder permissions are as they should be 755. I have tried 777 but that makes no difference.
I am using guru v 5.0.7 and dont want to upgrade for a couple of months and so would like this current issue fixed if possible. Many thanks for any assistance. S Hawkins.
PS: I have searched the server logs and there is nothing pertaining to this error. When I frst installed guru I was able to add a header then the next time I came to use it it wouldnt work?
Thank you for contacting us.
I'm sorry to hear that you have issues with Guru.
Unfortunately it seems that your Guru subscription expired.
We could provide support only for valid subscription owners.
Please, consider to renew your subscription - all renewals are discounted -20% (included in renewal fee).
I'll be happy to help you after renewal.
Yeah its too expensive to keep renewing licences. Il look for alternatives. I have publisher and guru as well as seo and to keep buying them is not acceptable to be honest. Thanks.
Please verify in Guru settings the path to media and please verify that the folders are created. Usually, the folders are not created due to the writings restrictions. Then, you can do also like deleting the existing ones and create ones via FTP or cpanel, create tme like they are set in Guru settings and try again. Maybe permissions will change and will work.
